Moments of Happiness
“Little Moments of Happiness” is a nontraditional self-portrait utilizing objects that have a strong meaning to me. Each object represents a piece of happiness, painted with a specific color that holds a meaning. The color they are painted with showcases a different aspect of happiness I feel with that object.
As an artist I always like to capture real world events and personal experiences through the canvas. By doing abstract work it gives me the ability to paint these events with my personality. I believe that painting gives an artist freedom to express themselves with a wide range of opportunities.
When onlookers gaze into my art I want them to feel the emotion told through the bristles of the brush. So, when viewing my artwork spectators should feel a mixture of sentiments. Love, sadness, and happiness are all traits painted on the pieces I worked on for the exhibition. There are many little details drawn into place that help express these ideas. My art is all about being put into a certain period of time and feeling the moment.
